Federal funding available for community food projects

From USDA/CSREES, the umbrella organization for the federal government's extension work:

The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service announces the availability of grant funds and requests applications for the Community Food Projects Competitive Grants Program (CFPCGP) for fiscal year (FY) 2006 to support: (1) the development of Community Food Projects with a one-time infusion of Federal dollars to make such projects self-sustaining; (2) projects that provide Training and Technical Assistance on a nationwide or regional basis to entities interested in developing new Community Food Projects or assisting current grantees; and (3) Planning Projects to assess the food security needs and plan long-term solutions to help ensure food security in communities. The amount available for support of this program in FY 2006 is approximately $4,600,000.

Deadline is April 13. More information available from www.grants.gov (the page at this link, doesn't seem to have the full announcement, but I assume the rest is available at that site somewhere).
